Silk + Smoke is a Scottish literary magazine accepting worldwide submissions of short fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction.
Our objective is to curate a diverse body of unconventional and experimental work, spanning genres and styles.
Our favourite genres are literary fiction, nature writing, horror, fantasy, absurdism and science fiction. But we welcome all kinds of weird and wonderful submissions. As we are based in Scotland, we would love to read submissions written in Scots, too.

Silk + Smoke is not funded by any arts organisations or charitable bodies and does not generate any revenue. While this is the case, we, unfortunately, cannot pay our writers but can provide a platform to share exceptional literary fiction with our community of readers and writers.
